Media 4902 has presented a lot more information than I ever thought I would have my hands on, due to this I believe that my favorite module that I read and researched is module 5. Module 5 had us research "The Future of Business Communication", which is important to me as a video production student because of developing technologies that I will have to adapt to in the near future. The article that I took a lot away from is the article by Suparna Dutta and Soma Sircar because of how they both spoke about how important communication has been throughout human existence and how rapidly it advances.
As a student of the communication sciences I take every possible medium of communication into further investigation because I do not want to limit myself as an individual. I never want to develop the old man attitude in which I will refuse to learn new communication styles and advancements. Culture today has affected me in this educational decision for myself through communication changes such as social networking, texting, email and many other various communication styles presented to me everyday. In the article they focused on various subjects of change due to technological changes in media such as culture, technology, relationships and different mediums of communication that target different cultures and people around the world today.
The knowledge I took away from the article is that today we live in a globally connected community. Therefore, the communication between people across the world must become quicker, efficient and less expensive. Having the opportunity to communicate with people around the world so quickly through the internet, satellite, cell phones and many other mediums creates a new meaning of communication for me. Now do I not only think of communication between my mom in Cleveland but I realize that I can communicate with students in Malaysia in seconds with the technological advancements today. The development from pen and paper to mechanical television to analog and now super engineered servers that can communicate with others in seconds across the world amazes me. Through all of the great communication levels we have access today to makes it all more complicated and now into an art form. Business and marketing is not just for the modern blue collared business man but it requires all men and women across the world to significantly develop better uses of societies tools to better all of mankind.

Blog #6 What have I learned in 4902
Please indicate what have you learnt from this class.
In media 4902 there have been many things I have been introduced to such as the marketing rules of the social media market place. For example rule one is to empower anyone who can understand the content which will act as supply for the demand of the people who it will benefit. In this I learned that the content and studies of media marketing is much more important than there is credit given because of the massive explosion of new media such as social networking. One of the most relevant facts I took away from the beginning modules is to trust my peers because they have become the most powerful tools for marketing myself to internships and selling products to larger markets.
A few facts that I found that may change through the marketing techniques we studied this semester are the mediums of advertising. The advertising mediums such as newspaper, radio, tv and online web pages have become more important to me as a student because of my future in media arts and studies. To know the customers of these mediums is my future job which I must now know how to speak with them as much as possible and build relationships with my consumer. I must create a niche market for my own consumer and cater to their interests which must be able to market
What could have been done differently to improve this class?
The only other way that the class could have been improved is if the students took on a project to study a website for more time than one week if the project was over the whole semester. This way I think that the students would have basic access information throughout most of the semester studies in which will help us as students to understand the content firsthand. For the most part though, I found the class very relevant to my future to help me familiarize myself with the new media I will be dealing with.
